I have evolved during the 2020 pandemic as far as my understanding of good audio in an online meeting is concerned. I started with a logitech headset when I first started online meetings and trainings. From there, I progressed to a USB condenser microphone (The famed Blue Yeti) and soon realized there is much more to audio then plugging an expensive microphone into a PC.
I now conduct my trainings using a Shure SM7B dynamic microphone connected via XLR cable to a Scarlett Solo (3rd Gen) audio interface and a Cloud-Lifter (CL-1) to provide clean gain to the microphone.
In this video, I explore the various microphones that I currently own so you can get a sense of what each microphone sounds. If you do online trainings or presentations, you can decide what works best for you.
